    Brief Overview

    L-glutamine is part of an amino acid which are molecules that play many roles in the body. This substance is naturally found in variety of foods, such as beef, skim milk, and tofu. Having an enough dietary intake of L-Glutamine can help to increase the immune system and intestinal health. Moreover, it can help people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) to protect the mucous membrane, which blocks bacterial infiltration during digestion, of the esophagus and intestines. The physical appearance of L-Glutamine is an odorless white crystal powder.

    Manufacturing Process

    The manufacturing process involved a fermentation reaction. Firstly, into a mixing reactor, glucose, ammonia, growth factor, and minerals are added. Secondly, the fermentation process occurred and followed by separation and concentration crystallization. This process yielded a crude crystal which was then decolorized. The mixture was then dried into crystal powder to yield the desired product, which was L-Glutamine.

    L-glutamine is produced as a nutritional supplement. It is one of the pharmaceutical ingredients for gastric ulcer treatment. L-glutamine is also for treating dietary shortage and imbalance and reducing acute complications of sickle cell disease in adult and pediatric patients 5 years of age and older.
